New Zealand is famous for its unpolluted 'clean green' environment, and we are fortunate to be able to source most of our herbs from local organic New Zealand growers, thus maximising the purity and potency of our products. New Zealand is also renowned for its incredibly diverse range of plant-life, with many of these plants used by traditional Māori healers to treat ill health. The Kiwiherb manufacturing plant is accredited by the Ministry of Health’s medicines safety authority Medsafe as a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) facility. This means all of our products are subject to intensive testing and monitoring ensuring the safety and consistency of each batch.

Phil Rasmussen is an experienced Medical Herbalist with a busy clinic in Auckland where he has practiced since 1995. Before pursuing herbal medicine, he worked for more than ten years as a pharmacist, and undertook research on antidepressant drugs and serotonin for a Masters degree in Pharmacology.
Phil is a regular lecturer at several naturopathic and herbal colleges, frequently presents at conferences in New Zealand, Australia and the UK, and has written extensively on herbal subjects for both practitioner and consumer publications for many years. Phil is an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Pharmacy at the University of Auckland, and also acts as a consultant to governmental agencies and academic institutions.
Phil is passionate about research and heads the New Product Development team at Phytomed, creating premium, highly effective product formulations combining both traditional herbal use and modern research.
